Our Statement of Faith and Mission ...
What We Believe ...
1. We believe the Scriptures,
both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word
of God, without error in the original writings, the
complete revelation of His will for the salvation of
men, and the Divine and final authority for all
Christian faith and life.
2. We believe in one God who is
Creator and Ruler of the universe, infinitely
perfect and eternally existing in three persons; the
Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three
are co-equal.
3. We believe that Jesus Christ
is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father,
and is fully God and fully man in one person. He was
born of the Virgin Mary, and lived a sinless human
life. He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice
for the sins of all men by dying on the cross.
Further, He arose bodily from the dead,
demonstrating His power over sin and death. He
ascended into Heaven, where, at the right hand of
the Father, He now is our High Priest, and Advocate.
He will return again someday to earth to reign as
King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
4. We believe in the deity of
the Holy Spirit; that He is equal with the Father
and the Son as God. He convicts and regenerates the
believing sinner, and indwells, baptizes, seals,
guides, gifts, instructs, and empowers the believer
for godly living and service.
5. We believe that humanity was
created in the image of God, but by voluntary
transgression fell into sin and is thereby separated
from God. Humanity, unaided by the Holy Spirit, is
unable to reconcile themselves to God.
6. We believe that the death of
Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only
ground for justification, and reconciliation to God.
We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement
or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as
God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from
sin’s penalty and receive God’s free gift of eternal
life.
7. We believe that the church is
composed of all true believers in Jesus Christ and
are united together in the body of Christ of which
He is the Head. This body is manifest in local
churches which are centers of believers gathered for
worship, edification, fellowship, evangelism and the
observance of the ordinances of Baptism and The
Lord’s Supper.
8. We believe people were
created to exist forever. We will either exist
eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally
with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be
eternally separated from God is Hell. To be
eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven
and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
