About our Church ...
As Pastor of Gateway Baptist Church, I would like
to thank you for taking time to visit our church
website. Feel free to check out our site and learn
about our beliefs, our
service times, and upcoming
events. Take a look at the
photo galleries to see our people (after all,
it's the people who make up the church...not the
building!). We would love for you to visit a service
in person so we can meet you. I Hope to see you
sometime! May the Lord bless you and draw you closer
to Himself!
What to expect in our services:
Our services will be centered around expository
teaching from the Bible that relates to life. Our
music remembers the great Hymns of the faith, but
with a desire to build new traditions with music
that is centered on Christ. You will find a wide
range of dress in our services. We want you to come
as you are, without dress becoming an obstacle to
your presence here. The Bible teaches that people
need to strive to be modest and not call attention
to themselves by how they dress because worship
needs to be about God and not us. With that said,
some will fulfill that instruction in jeans, and
others will do that in shirts and ties.
Gateway Baptist Church is composed of great mix
of ages and from many different walks of life, and
even different countries. However we all with the
same basic need - to know and grow in Christ. We are
self governing Baptist church in fellowship with the
General Association of Regular Baptist Church and
with Sunshine Baptist fellowship.
About Pastor Bob Leavitt ...
Pastor
Bob Leavitt , a native of Central Wisconsin
graduated from Baptist Bible College/Seminary in
2006 completing a Master of Divinity degree. He
strives to give a clear presentation of the Word of
God by answering two basic questions: What is God
talking about? What is God saying about what He is
talking about? From this simple, but effect method
of interpretation, the truth of God's Word is made
clear and clearly applied.
He believes that through God's Word, God has
given us all that we need to live a life of true joy
and peace. Most importantly, he preaches the gospel
of Christ which is the only way for a person to
receive eternal life with God in Heaven. No matter
what your need is, God is the answer. He has served
at GBC, as Pastor since 2006. He and his wife Fran
have two fine sons, Neal (23) and Nick (16).
